Somatic Healing
Mindfulness, moment to moment awareness without judgement, how to love yourself fully and completely (self compassion). Most of our behaviour patterns stem from maladaptive strategies that we learned as children to cope with our wounding. This self love and healing therapy helps by working with the felt sense to help release shocks in the nervous system in a loving and compassionate way.
What is Felt Sense?
The felt sense is an open non judging awareness of your emotional state as well as awareness of your intuition. These vague body sensations correspond to unresolved emotional conflict which tends to resolve when one simply pays attention.

How is coaching distinct from other service professions?

Therapy deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict within an individual or in relationships. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past that hamper an individual’s emotional functioning in the present, improving overall psychological functioning, and dealing with the present in more emotionally healthy ways. Coaching, on the other hand, supports personal and professional growth based on self-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. These outcomes are linked to personal or professional success. Coaching is future focused. While positive feelings/emotions may be a natural outcome of coaching, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in one’s work or personal life. Yoga Fit & Alignment
YogaFit was founded by Beth Shaw in 1994. It was created with the goal of bringing yoga to every body type, age and skill level.
- YogaFit focuses on both the psychological and physical practice of Yoga which promotes health and mental awareness. The essence of Yogafit is teaching that Yoga is a journey not a destination. How you feel about your practice today might be different about how you felt about it yesterday or will feel tomorrow.
- Age, illness, and prior injuries are always considered and modified poses and/or props are used so that any body type can get the full benefit from all the different postures.
- Yogafit encourages staying in the present moment by Breathing, Feeling, Listening to your body, while letting go of judgement, competition and expectations. The mind body connection of Yogafit is an excellent modality to add to your healing journey.
- YogaFit has “Seven principles of Alignment” that help us move safely no matter what we are doing. These are highlighted in every posture/transition so that day to day activity finds us “more aware” of how we are moving.
